But this one almost takes the cake: "Nigerian police detain goat over armed robbery".
Speaking of crazy headlines. I had a dream the other night. I was in a tag-team wrestling match. My tag-team partner was 7'9" and an ex-European league basketball player. His name was Jim Mumbachumbawambacha and he was supposedly from Cameroon. Our opponents had Down Syndrome. We beat them rather easily and the crowd was mad. The next morning, the newspaper headline read: "Retarded People Riot; Burn Down Arena."

The premise is a bit naughty, but then again, I need some excitement in my life. That is the sad fact about intellectuals. No excitement. So I decided to enter Candice's Ding Dong giveaway contest.
But I'm a total virgin to this kind of stuff if you get the hint. So, what do you recommend?

"Men fight for liberty and win it with hard knocks. Their children, brought up easy, let it slip away again, poor fools. And their grandchildren are once more slaves." D.H. Lawrence
We've been inundated with stories like this for the better part of 18 months now.
I've written a number of times over the past year that things are going to continue to get worse. Now is the time to be stocking up on basic items like canned foods, boxed goods, seeds, etc... Go here for some more tips. I put up this link six years ago.
This is what I wrote to a facebook friend:
"I'm doing fine all things considered. Of course, it would be nice to be working (job-hunting at the moment), but I figure it had to end sooner or later. I figured once again God closed this door, so I can further prepare for the war at hand. It is mostly a spiritual war, but there will be physical, emotional, and psychological components.
Regardless of what happens, I've spent most of my life preparing for this moment. God spoke to me in a vision at the end of December and asked if I would be willing to accept my calling in life which is to be one of the founders and leaders of the Alliance To Restore The Republic. Knowing the hard times that will befall me, I accepted the calling. Now I shall proceed with my mission. Amen!"

I posted my first blog a year ago today. Never did I think I would have come up with enough material for 360 posts to date especially since I don't think I exactly live the kind of life that would be worth talking about. I prefer to discuss concepts or ideas more than talking about myself anyways.

The original TRAJAX plan had warned that if the operation failed, the United States could suffer a major “blowback" — CIA jargon for damage — in the form of a break in diplomatic relations and expulsion of all Americans. Of course, the coup succeeded and no such “blowback” occurred. But if any of the original planners are still alive they might well admit that the long-term consequences were far more disastrous. The coup tarred America with the British brush: being perceived as the “colonial power,” a perception that created deep distrust between Iran and United States.

This is just more confirmation that my decision to vote for someone else was a wise one. Please tell me that we aren't going to be in for more of this over the next three years and some odd months.
Interesting that the majority of them happen to be democrats. Leading off the list are the U.S. President and Christopher Dodd.

I hope everyone is enjoying this day even if you are not Irish by blood. Of course, I'm 1/4 Irish (via my mom's side), so I might as well get in on the act. I'm also 1/4 German, 1/4 British and 1/4 Cherokee Indian. That is a mouth-full, so I will leave it at that.

If you could clone yourself, what would your clones do? The original me would sleep all day, party at night and take a vacation when he isn't partying or sleeping. One clone would spend time on the net checking emails, blogging and what not. Another clone would do the nitty gritty like yard work and pay the bills. The third and last clone would be on stand-by should one of my other clones die off or quit.
So, again, if you could clone yourself, what would your clones do?

It has been confirmed from a confidential source within the Missouri Department of Safety that indeed there are official documents labeling those who are supporters of Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin, among other others as terrorists.
Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC) labeling Liberty activists across the country as "militia" and "white supremacists"
Regardless of state propaganda, continue to surge forward for decency and liberty.
"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."
In a free market with only 100% reserves of sound currency banks would be lending their own reserves of capital and setting interest rates based on a true assessment of the risk presented by each borrower.
In contrast, the Fed (which is private) lends out fiat currency and then licenses commercial banks to create more money by loaning out at their artifically low rates. This makes inflation, and easy money and destroys the incentive for banks to freely set interest rates based on actual risk because they just created the money (and therefore don't have the risk that a lender would who was using their own accumulated savings) and are tied into the artificially low Fed-established interest rates.
Investment banking firms and investment banking in general have been in the news quite a bit over the past six months or so. How did these investment banks wind up in so much trouble? Home prices increased because the securitization market rapidly increased the amount of capital (which was done through fractional reserve banking) available to the mortgage market and you had mortgage brokers making loans, selling them to investment banks who then sold them to investors. This triggered a speculative boom that led to a consequent demoralizing of business confidence first in housing, then the stock market and has now worked its way into the general economy.
Where did investment banking come from? Basically it was the cumulation of a long war between the Rockefeller and Morgan factions in the early 20th century and resulted in the Glass-Stegall Act.

You know the economy is bad when even Eddie Doyle can't hold onto his job. There has always been a part of me that resonates with Boston mostly because it is the birthplace of the American Revolution.
Like all things, times do change even though sometimes we wish some things would not.

I've been racking my brains over the past few months deciding on what to do for my birthday party. I haven't had a real birthday party since the time when Transformers and The Dukes of Hazzard were in their prime. I've decided to throw myself a party this year because the future is going to get hairy. Thus I will not have the luxury of having another one for some time.
It is basically an open invitation event. If you are on Facebook, feel free to sign up here. Otherwise, send me an email at email@example.com
My birthday is May 19, but the party will be May 16 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
I will be posting more details as time goes on. Hopefully my idea for a ladies mud wrestling tournament will suffice. Well, make that ladies and one guy! LOL
Unless you have been tuning out (which can be good), you may have noticed that the United States recently sent a warning of sorts to North Korea and vice versa. Here is another one involving China. Consider the source. Does Weapons of Mass Destruction mean anything to you?
I suspect this is a coordinated PR stunt in order to fan the flames. India and Pakistan did it in a big way last year. India falsely claimed Pakistan was behind the attack as a way to distract from its own internal problems and a haste attempt at starting another war. Fortunately, it didn't happen. But it could with the right conditions.
Wars are planned and coordinated. Sure, they are chaotic for the average person, but for the war-mongers and profiteers, it is a game. Poker, chess, Russian Roulette, pick your poison. How is it that the military can move massive amounts of equipment, material and soldiers in such a short amount of time when the average person on the street can't even give you the time of day? It takes coordination and planning to be able to do all that.
Göring: Why, of course, the people don't want war. Why would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece?
Naturally, the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship.
Gilbert: There is one difference. In a democracy the people have some say in the matter through their elected representatives, and in the United States only Congress can declare wars.
Göring: Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.

Then you factor in contractors such as those in the building trades and truck drivers and you are looking at a rate of higher than 16%.

“We must find new lands from which we can easily obtain raw materials and at the same time exploit the cheap slave labor that is available from the natives of the colonies. The colonies would also provide a dumping ground for the surplus goods produced in our factories.” Cecil Rhodes

American International Group (AIG) and other Wall Street firms have been in the news quite a bit lately. So what is going on here? Interesting post from a facebook friend of mine:
Just because they can't find a buyer for their company? Well, duh... That would be like every time someone can't sell their house, the Government will come and buy it at the market price. By the way, does this have anything to do with the fact they they were the insurance company that would have to pay on that skyscraper building that burned up in China? Just curious...
Greenberg Sr. owns nearly 2% of through offshore companies controls about another 12% of the stock of AIG.The connection with Warren Buffet is all the more suspicious in light of the substantiated indication of CIA money laundering through a bank partly owned by Berkshire Hathaway, Wells Fargo Bank, and the strange on goings at the Offutt Air Base on 9-11-01 where Buffet met with President George W. Bush.
Maurice Greenberg, the president and chief executive officer of American International Group (AIG), a multi-billion dollar New York-based insurance company, is no run-of-the-mill insurance salesman. Since taking over the Shanghai and New York-based insurance business of Cornelius Vander Starr in 1968, Greenberg has emerged as one of the most powerful behind-the-scenes political fixers in the Anglo-American Establishment. He is vice chairman of the New York Council on Foreign Relations. He is a member of the Board of Counselors of the Washington, D. C.-based Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), which serves, on occasion, as Wall Streets private sector equivalent of the CIA’s Directorate of Operations
[Note: Philip Manuel, the investigator, is a member of the Financial Crimes Task Force of the CSIS.]
Greenberg is also the oldest and largest paying client of Henry Kissinger consulting firm Kissinger Associates. Greenberg hired Kissinger as his chief international trouble-shooter in 1982, and has been plowing millions of dollars a year into Kissinger coffers ever since” The Kissinger connection has brought Greenberg an inside track on lucrative insurance and banking deals with both Peking and Moscow. In Chinas financial hub, Shanghai, Greenberg’s AIG is the only foreign company with Chinese government approval to sell insurance policies to the city's 13 million native Chinese. AIG has managed an astounding thing: they have had written for themselves parts of U.S. federal tax laws that gave them tax exemptions (Philadelphia Inquirer as quoted above). AIG won a special provision in the Tax Reform Act of 1986 exempting certain of its operations from a crackdown on foreign tax shelters. AIG as the prime beneficiary of a section in the Tax Reform Act that exempted AIG and other large insurers from taxes on some of their offshore operations, saving them millions of dollars More than 50% of their business is outside the USA, including offshore jurisdictions. On January 6, 1995, John Crudele of the New York Post published a column which called attention to a secret financial deal involving Coral Reinsurance on Bermuda, the Arkansas Development and Finance Authority, a project founded at the time by Arkansas state governor William J. Clinton (ADFA) and Maurice Greenberg’s American International Group (AIG). The story was only out for a few hours when Swaney received a call from a stranger who told Swaney he had been conducting his own investigation of Coral Insurance and AIG and was surprised to learn that the connections led to people then in the White House. When Swaney asked the stranger to identify himself, he declined to do so, for fear of retaliation.
Go here for more on this matter.
Yet another reason why you shouldn't believe everything you are told.
PILGRIM: You really have to push this report to say, what are they really saying here. They're including nonviolent groups with violent groups. The definition is so utterly fuzzy on "hate group" that...
DOBBS: Which obviously the FBI, the Justice Department rejects.
PILGRIM: They absolutely do.
